Watch this C6 Corvette Z06 take on a 1999 Camaro SS at your friendly neighborhood dragstrip. And whether it’s Camaro or Corvette, one thing’s for certain: there’s bound to be an LSx motor crossing the finish line first.
The C6 Corvette Z06 has a full Vararam intake, exhaust and cam. The Camaro SS has its LS1 engine sitting at 408 cubic inches, with LS3 intake and heads, a 235/243 cam, 4.30 rear end, among other modifications.
And it works. The Camaro whips the cammed Corvette the first time, then in the second run the bright red Z06 catches up slowly but surely.
According to the Camaro driver, he’s been running low 11s consistently, but his best pass was 10.97 seconds at 126mph.
