In South Florida, this sort of thing happens all the time, we imagine. A hotted-up ZR1 meets a hotted-up Porsche Turbo…and no matter who wins, it makes for entertaining viewing.
This ZR1 has a pulley and tune, and when full up of E85 gasoline, it’s pumping out 608 horsepower to the rear wheels. But the 997-generation Porsche 911 Turbo isn’t taking things lying down, either. It has an intake, an exhaust, a 65mm throttle body, and a big-ass turbo that’s far larger than stock. With a tune and also E85 gas, it’s putting out 650 horsepower to all four wheels.
Sounds like a fair fight…right? Well, from a 40mph roll, the Corvette beats it…and from a 60mph roll, it trumps the Porker, too. Despite the power, and the AWD grip, it’s no match for a well-driven ZR1 with less weight and more balls.
