Redline Motorsports sent this twin-turbo Corvette Z06 on a quest for a seven-second quarter mile. By the end of the day at Palm Beach International Raceway, Car #666 had reached the high sevens.
Consider that a job well done.
Back in December, the shop from Pompano Beach, Florida had run the car at 15lbs of boost, which they considered “mild.” On a gloomy day at Orlando Speedway, the Z06 ran an eighth mile in 5.40 seconds, at 132 miles per hour. “Good start,” they said, promising to crank the boost up to 24lbs.
Now, it looks like that additional boost paid off. Next step: the mid-7s.
