Take a murdered-out Chevy Nova SS packed with a hefty punch of NOS, pit it against a C6 Corvette Z06, and you’ve got one interesting street race.
The boys from Bay Area Racing are back with another fine pairing here. We’re not certain what mods either car has besides NOS for the third-gen Nova, but the C6 Z06 pulled hard after the start to come away victorious.
Produced from 1968-74, the third generation Chevy Nova was one of the most popular cars from that era to be transformed into street racers. The SS version of the Nova was one of the smallest muscle cars ever fielded by Detroit, and included a 295 hp, 350 cu in 5.7 liter V8, a heavy-duty suspension and other performance hardware. An optional big-block 396 cu in 6.5 liter V8 was the pinnacle SS you could get straight from Chevrolet.
