DRIVE’s Tuned segment heads to Sealy, in the heart of Texas, to take the Hennessey Camaro ZL1 for a spin.
Squaring off at the track against a Cadillac CTS-V wagon, also breathed upon by Hennessey as their “Hammer Wagon.” Yes, the ZL1 has paddle shifters. No, it’s not entirely blasphemy. Not on the tuner legend’s private dragstrip.
Or around the Hennessey compound, on a dirt road, with John himself giving chase. Back in 2012, which makes this a blast from the past, Matt Farah said that this was “one of the loudest cars we’ve ever had the privilege of driving.” Ever since then, they’ve presumably gone even louder and faster with their cars. But few things can replace a Hennessey.
