Cavalcade of torque: Audi R8 faces tuned Camaro SS, Shelby GT500

Can an exotic German take down some hopped-up Americans?

It’s a question we’ve asked many times before. But this Camaro is going to be pretty busy kicking asses. It’s got heads and cams, intake and exhaust, and is all motor, baby. 520 horsepower to the rear wheel should do it.

Meanwhile, the 2013 Shelby GT500 is all stock. As is the Audi R8—but with a V10 engine, it doesn’t need much more to be in the running.

It’s an all-out battle on the streets as the yellow Camaro SS, known as “Mr. TORQ,” faces down rivalries from back home and abroad.
