Considering the new C7 Corvette Z06 is billed by GM as the most track capable Corvette of all time, it’s no surprise that it has been spotted being put through it’s paces again at the world’s most grueling road course in the world –The Nürburgring Nordschleife.
In the video above youtuber CvdZijden films the silver-bullet getting some hot-laps in on the 12+mile road course, sounding as glorious as ever, and looking every bit like the world-class supercar it is. As an fyi the Michigan mfg. rear plate on this Z06 is your dead giveaway this is a GM test vehicle.
According to Corvette Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter, the team was finally able to confirm the performance of the car on a continuous lap of the Nurburgring, and they were more than satisfied with the results. He went on to say they are putting together a press release and will have the lap time and video out shortly.
As a refresher, the Corvette Z06 features a supercharged 6.2L V-8 engine, which is SAE-certified at 650 horsepower (485 kW) at 6,400 rpm and 650 lb-ft of torque (881 Nm) at 3,600 rpm. The C7 Z06 is the most powerful production car ever from General Motors.
