How much NOS can a Stock 305 take?

How much NOS can a Stock 305 take?

The boys over at Engine Masters on the Motor Trend channel have an interesting project. They are taking a stock Chevy 305 small block, and are hitting it with NOS until it fails. Let this be some good old engine porn, and a word of warning to those of you trying to boost your next runs at the drag strip.

They actually make a decent amount of power before the little motor goes pop towards the end of the video. It’s always cool to hear experts talk about what happens when an engine is affected by NOS or boost or what have you.

What do you think? Should they have spared that poor little small block?
