Nelson Racing improves on Callaway with a thousand horsepower

Nelson Racing improves on Callaway with a thousand horsepower

A Nineties-era Callaway Corvette already churns out tons of power. But, as we all know, that’s never enough.

This 1995 Callaway Corvette drove into Nelson Racing’s shop with a naturally-aspirated 383 cu.in. LT1, putting out 450 horsepower. Remember, in 1995, this was massive. But today, that figure isn’t as impressive as its bodywork.

So, Nelson Racing put twin turbos on it.

Now it’s got over 1,000 horsepower, hidden under that beautiful white fiberglass hood, and still captures that late-80s, early-90s look. The lucky customer even takes it for his first, trepidatious, test drive. No surprise that with so much power under the hood, he babies his baby.
