At the 11th annual Street Car Super Nationals in Las Vegas, Roger Holder’s screaming orange Camaro set a world radial quarter-mile record—and then, its parachutes broke free.
Last year, Holder Motorsports sent this twin-turbocharged Hugger Orange Camaro to a 6.12-second quarter-mile at 244mph. This year, the Camaro went 6.075 seconds at 226.09 mph, shattering its previous efforts while nearly breaking into the fives.
What else shattered? The chutes, which Holder pulled at the end of his run, and the mounts broke. Fortunately, he brought the car safely to a stop, so it may live another day. And, eventually, run into the five seconds.
