How much power is too much? Well, if you judge this Corvette’s ability to put all of its four-figure horsepower on the street, without mayhem or injury, then 2,000 horsepower is just right.
Late Model Racecraft’s 2008 Corvette is pumping out that astronomical figure via two 76mm turbochargers, sucking in air through an intake too big for the hood. Air-to-water intercoolers and a heat exchanger help the LSx 427 engine stay cool around town. At the Texas Mile, it went 232 miles per hour.
A Powerglide two-speed transmission and 20 pounds of boost is a pretty good baseline for these crazy guys. Oh, and a 200-shot of nitrous is used…occasionally. Just in case things never got too fast.
