With all the recent talk about a future mid-engined super car Corvette in the works, the timing of this one-off hitting the auction block couldn’t have been planned any better. Behold the 1963 Corvette V7 twin-turbo.
Designed by Mark Harlan, the 1963 Corvette V7 twin-turbo is a one-off show car that was inspired by Harlan’s personal Ford GT and rumors of a possible mid-engine Corvette for the car’s then-unreleased seventh generation, as noted by Hemmings.
Powering the 63′ is a Chevrolet LS twin turbo V-8 mated to a custom built Mendeola transaxle and Master Shift paddles. The car has been documented putting down 1,000-hp and 915-lb/ft of torque on the dyno.
Later this month the one-off will cross the auction block stage in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Read the full article over at Hemmings here.
