Chevelle SS packs four-figure horsepower, runs 9s all day long

You’d never guess that this Chevelle SS packs 1,071 horsepower until you saw it hit the strip—where it runs 9-second times, all day long.

Donovan supplies the all-aluminum, big-block motor, at 582 cubic inches, and it makes that much crank horsepower on regular gas. Street driven, too, claims the owner. “The engine is so clean you could eat off of it,” says High Tech Corvette, “and the paint job is amazing.”
