Eight-second Corvettes demolish the dragstrip

Eight-second Corvettes demolish the dragstrip

These red Corvettes mean business. The bright red Z06 was built by Race Proven Motorsports, starting with a stock 427 LSx block and adding Holley EFI and a ProCharger at 20 psi of boost.

The result is good for around 1,400 horsepower, says the bearded man nonchalantly. With a trap speed of 172 miles per hour, it’s good for eight-second quarter miles, all day, every day.

And for RPM, the dark red Corvette is a worthy challenger. Watch the two square off at the end of the video, and while we don’t know what’s inside the rival, we want to find out.
