The new Corvette Z06 has been in the hands of owners for a few months now, and judging from the amount of youtube clips tagged “2015 Z06”, most seem to be having a blast. We’ve seen our share of burnouts and quarter-mile runs, but most, if not all have been manual transmission cars.
In the video above this brand new (only 37 miles on the odometer) 8-speed automatic Z06 blasts through the quarter-mile in just 10.38 seconds at an impressive 131.4 MPH.
As a refresher, the new Z06 is powered by Chevrolet’s new LT4 supercharged 6.2L V8 engine, and cranks out 650 horsepower (485 kW) at 6,400 rpm, and 650 lb-ft of torque (881 Nm) at 3,600 rpm. The Z06 accelerates from 0-60 mph in only 2.95 seconds when equipped with the all-new, available eight-speed automatic transmission.
